Sue Yeh Johnson’s leadership is grounded in lived experience, shaped by complexity, and defined by reinvention.

From her early years working in her family’s Chinese restaurant in Mississippi, she learned how to navigate conflict, cultural tension, and expectation, all without a formal title. It was there she began developing the strategic calm and quiet strength that would become a hallmark of her leadership.

Later, her path was marked by personal challenges- infertility, caregiving, and living in Northern Virginia during both 9/11 and the sniper attacks, moments that redefined her relationship with uncertainty. 

She earned her master’s degree in computer science just as corporate fraud and economic collapse shattered the job market. While others were climbing ladders, she was building her own.

These weren’t setbacks, they were cornerstone shifts: pivotal moments that shaped how she leads. With every challenge, Sue honed her ability to see clearly in complexity, to move with accountability, and to design her own path forward.
